The Australian Government has published its response to a Senate committee report on the consultation process for the offshore wind industry. The response addresses the committee's recommendations after its 2025 inquiry into how communities and stakeholders are engaged as offshore wind areas and projects progress. It was tabled in the Senate in May 2026, setting out the government position on the inquiry's findings.

Offshore Wind Energy Victoria lists declared offshore wind areas in Gippsland and the Southern Ocean, including named proposed Gippsland projects such as Blue Mackerel, Star of the South, Aurora Green, Navigator North, Gippsland 1, Gippsland 2 and High Sea Wind, plus the Spinifex project in the Southern Ocean.
