Baltic Power

Northland Power reports that all 76 turbines have been installed at Baltic Power, the Polish offshore wind project jointly owned with ORLEN. More than one-third of the turbines are generating electricity as commissioning continues, with commercial operation expected in 2026. The project is supported by a 25-year contract for difference and is expected to generate around 4 TWh annually once operational. Northland is also constructing two Polish battery storage projects totalling 300 MW / 1.2 GWh.

Northland Power says its 2.5 GW construction portfolio remains on track. Hai Long has 71 of 73 turbines installed and Baltic Power 61 of 76, while its Jurassic battery project in Alberta has entered final testing and two Polish battery projects totalling 300 MW / 1.2 GWh have started construction.

WindEurope reports that the Baltic Power offshore wind farm has become the first Polish project to deliver electricity to the national grid. Power is being brought ashore through the newly inaugurated Choczewo substation as the 1.2 GW project enters phased commissioning, with full operation expected later in 2026.

Van Oord said it transported and installed all monopile foundations and transition pieces for Baltic Power, Poland's first offshore wind farm, including 78 monopile foundations and 76 transition pieces.
