Cierco Energy has signed an Agreement for Lease with The Crown Estate, securing Celtic Sea seabed rights for two 100 MW Llŷr test and demonstration offshore wind projects off Pembrokeshire. The projects are intended to trial floating foundations, mooring systems and dynamic cabling at scale while developing Welsh engineering, manufacturing and supply-chain capability.

Cierco Energy's two 100 MW Llŷr test and demonstration projects in the Celtic Sea have secured a marine licence but are awaiting Welsh Government consent under Section 36. The developer says a timely decision is needed to enter Contracts for Difference Allocation Round 8 and advance trials of floating foundations and mooring systems while building Welsh offshore engineering and supply-chain capability.
