Connecticut opposes renewed federal challenge to Revolution Wind approvals
Connecticut’s Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) says the state is reviewing its options after the federal administration asked a court for permission to rescind an earlier approval for Revolution Wind. State officials said they were coordinating with Ørsted and were prepared to defend the project’s permits and electricity supply. The 704 MW offshore wind farm has begun supplying the New England grid, while full commercial operation is expected later in 2026. DEEP reports that the last of its 65 turbines was completed in September. The department estimates that the project could reduce regional electricity-market costs by about $500 million annually by 2028, alongside further savings for Connecticut customers.
