Electricity system
Azerenergy operates the principal generation and transmission system, while Azerishiq operates electricity distribution. The Ministry of Energy sets policy and the Azerbaijan Renewable Energy Agency supports renewable-energy development.
Grid context
Large generators connect through Azerenergy's national transmission system, which is interconnected with neighbouring systems including Georgia, Russia, Iran and Turkey. The mapped package covers effectively all current commercial onshore-wind capacity.
