Electricity system
The Electricity and Water Authority plans and operates Bahrain's public electricity and water networks and is delivering the Al Dur solar project. The national energy strategy targets renewables at 20% of the overall energy mix by 2035.
Grid context
Al Dur is being developed on two adjacent sites covering 830,000 square metres and will connect through the 66/11 kV Al Dur BSP Substation. Distributed solar connects separately through EWA's net-metering and connection arrangements.
