Modular Offshore Grid (MOG) is dedicated offshore connection infrastructure, reducing individual farm connection costs. Elia open data API available.
Grid context
Grid connection for Belgian offshore wind is managed by Elia under the Modular Offshore Grid (MOG) framework, which provides a centralised offshore transmission hub (the Alpha platform) connecting multiple farms to the onshore grid at a single landing point near Zeebrugge. This integrated model has been highly efficient and avoids the delays associated with sequential farm-by-farm connection processes. The Princess Elisabeth Zone expansion will use a similar dedicated offshore grid approach.
