Electricity system
Botswana Power Corporation is the national utility and principal grid operator and buyer. The Ministry of Minerals and Energy sets policy, while the Botswana Energy Regulatory Authority regulates electricity-sector licences and tariffs.
Grid context
Botswana participates in the Southern African Power Pool and uses domestic generation plus regional imports. The mapped package contains 107 MW of operating grid-connected solar at project-specific locations, covering 99.07% of the eligible commissioned fleet.
