TchadElec replaced the former Societe Nationale d'Electricite in July 2025 and operates in the country's six main electricity-consuming cities. The Ministry of Water and Energy leads policy, while ARSE regulates the electricity sector and independent producers are beginning to supply the public system.
The mapped 80 MW solar fleet supplies the N'Djamena system. Dinio injects through the upgraded Gassi substation, while Noor Chad at Djarmaya connects toward Lamadji and is operated by Global South Utilities under a long-term power-purchase arrangement.
