Electricity system
CENACE operates and commercially administers Ecuador's National Interconnected System and its international interconnections. CELEC EP Transelectric operates the national transmission network, while public and private generators and distribution companies participate under national electricity regulation.
Grid context
Large generators connect through the National Transmission System and distribution networks following connection studies coordinated with CENACE and the relevant network operator. Hydropower dominates supply, with the operating wind fleet providing a smaller diversified contribution.
