Unidad de Transacciones operates El Salvador's wholesale electricity market and coordinates the national electricity system. ETESAL owns the transmission network and SIGET regulates electricity activities, tariffs and service quality.
Grid context
Wholesale generators connect through the national transmission or distribution system and participate through Unidad de Transacciones. The mapped package covers all wholesale wind and hydro and 90.315% of wholesale solar capacity.
