Electricity system
Ghana Grid Company operates the National Interconnected Transmission System and provides system-operation services. The Energy Commission licenses and provides technical regulation, the Public Utilities Regulatory Commission regulates tariffs and service quality, and ECG and NEDCo are the principal distribution utilities.
Grid context
Large generators connect to GRIDCo's transmission network, while smaller generation may connect through distribution utilities. The mapped package covers every current grid-connected solar and hydropower plant of at least 1 MW in the Energy Commission's national plant table.
