Electricity system
The Ministry of Energy sets electricity policy. Tavanir oversees the national electricity industry, while Iran Grid Management Company operates the transmission system, dispatch and wholesale market; regional companies distribute electricity.
Grid context
Large generators connect through Iran's national transmission system operated by Iran Grid Management Company. The mapped package contains 31 operating assets totalling 12,532.2 MW and the 510 MW Azad pumped-storage project under construction. Hydro coverage is representative by capacity; the five exact-site wind farms form an explicitly partial 75.65% capacity subset.
