Electricity system
Jordan's National Electric Power Company (NEPCO) operates the national transmission system, system control, bulk power purchases and cross-border exchanges. The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources sets policy and the Energy and Minerals Regulatory Commission regulates the sector.
Grid context
Large generators connect to NEPCO's 132 kV and 400 kV transmission network, while smaller projects connect through the relevant distribution company. Jordan is interconnected with neighbouring systems, including Egypt through the Gulf of Aqaba cable.
