JIRAMA is the state electricity and water utility and operates the country's principal interconnected and isolated systems. Independent producers also supply electricity under contract, reflecting Madagascar's fragmented grid geography.
The ten mapped conventional-hydropower plants of at least 1 MW cover 99.65% of the reconciled current 228.3 MW fleet. Three JIRAMA units below 1 MW, totalling 0.8 MW, are deliberately outside scope.
