The Central Electricity Board is the state-owned vertically integrated utility responsible for the principal generation, transmission, distribution and electricity supply system. Private producers sell electricity into the system under CEB arrangements, with sector policy led by the Ministry of Energy and Public Utilities.
Mauritius operates an island electricity system without international interconnection. The mapped package contains five operating CEB hydro stations totalling 52.5 MW and covers 95.98% of the current fleet capacity eligible under the 1 MW threshold.
