Electricity system
Electricidade de Mocambique is the national transmission, distribution and principal domestic generation utility. Hidroelectrica de Cahora Bassa operates the country's dominant power plant, while the Ministry of Mineral Resources and Energy sets sector policy.
Grid context
Mozambique participates in the Southern African Power Pool and exports substantial Cahora Bassa generation while extending its domestic grid. The mapped package covers 99.80% of hydro capacity and the complete named commercial grid-solar fleet.
