Electricity system
National Grid Company of Pakistan operates the national transmission system and performs system-operation functions under NEPRA licences. K-Electric operates a separate vertically integrated system around Karachi that is interconnected with the national grid, while NEPRA regulates electricity services.
Grid context
Large generators connect to the National Grid Company transmission system or the relevant distribution network under NEPRA's regulated framework. The mapped commissioned wind fleet is concentrated in the Gharo-Jhimpir wind corridor in Sindh.
