Electricity system
Administracion Nacional de Electricidad is Paraguay's vertically integrated public electricity utility, responsible for the national transmission and distribution system and domestic generation. Itaipu and Yacyreta are operated through binational entities shared with Brazil and Argentina respectively.
Grid context
Paraguay's interconnected system is supplied by Acaray and the country's treaty shares of Itaipu and Yacyreta, with ANDE transmitting electricity to domestic demand centres and exporting substantial hydroelectric output through regional interconnections.
