The UAE electricity system is organised through emirate-level utilities within a federal policy framework. EWEC procures power and water in Abu Dhabi, TAQA Transmission operates the Abu Dhabi transmission network, DEWA serves Dubai and the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure coordinates federal policy.
Utility-scale generators connect through the relevant emirate transmission or distribution authority. The four-site UAE Wind Program supplies the country's first large-scale utility wind generation alongside the much larger solar and nuclear fleet.
