Electricity system
ZESCO is Zambia's principal vertically integrated electricity utility and operates the national transmission system. Copperbelt Energy Corporation operates a separate interconnected network in the Copperbelt, while the Energy Regulation Board regulates electricity licences, tariffs and sector performance.
Grid context
Large generators connect to ZESCO or CEC networks under ERB regulation. The mapped package covers every current grid-connected commercial solar site of at least 1 MW in the regulator's 2025 installed-capacity table.
