Electricity system
Zimbabwe Power Company operates the principal generation fleet, while Zimbabwe Electricity Transmission and Distribution Company operates transmission, system control and distribution. The Zimbabwe Energy Regulatory Authority licenses and regulates the sector.
Grid context
Zimbabwe participates in the Southern African Power Pool. The mapped Kariba South plant is the complete large operating hydro fleet and represents approximately 97.13% of all national hydro capacity, with nine small schemes outside the 25 MW threshold.
