Description

The Marine Institute, also known as Foras na Mara, is Ireland's national agency for marine research, technology development and innovation. It provides scientific services, research infrastructure, data and advisory support for sustainable marine development, including marine renewable energy and offshore wind planning.

The Institute continues to operate the SmartBay cabled observatory.
