Magallanes (FoW - EMEC)
Magallanes (FoW - EMEC) tidal stream overview.
The original ATIR floating tidal-energy prototype underwent sea trials at EMEC’s Fall of Warness site in Orkney, generating electricity from two submerged rotors. Installed in 2019 and redeployed after maintenance in 2021, the 1.5 MW device completed its test programme and returned to Vigo in November 2025 for final assessment and dismantling.DecommissionedUnited Kingdom
